About Osher Amira-Marks

My name is Osher Amira-Marks, and I am 27 years old. I moved to the United States almost two years ago to pursue new opportunities. Born and raised in Israel, I am the eldest of five children- two sisters and two brothers. Family is central to my life, a sentiment that now extends to my energetic 15-month-old puppy, who keeps me grounded and smiling every day.

My Professional Journey

My aspiration to become a lawyer is built on real-world experience. Before my academic journey here, I served in the Israel Defense Forces (IDF) as a criminal investigator. That role required rigorous critical thinking and a deep commitment to justice- qualities I am now refining in the classroom. I view the study of English and composition as essential training for the analytical and rhetorical demands of the legal field.

Cultural Perspective

My background as an immigrant gives me a unique cultural lens through which I view literature and society. This perspective allows me to engage with complex topics and narratives from a fresh viewpoint, which I believe strengthens my critical analysis in all my academic pursuits.
